About
Throughout my journey, I have found my place in creative communities and coffee houses. I have always felt at home with raging feminists, quirky artists, people with cool tattoos, and just about every barista. Art has quickly gone from being something to do in front of the TV to a passion that has flourished. A steady progression from using it as a coping mechanism in High School to doing it because something in my body is yearning to make art has made me into a passionate artist and it continues to grow. I have found inspiration from growing up listening to fairy tales, watching cartoons, reading books, and my feminist perspective on the world. Throughout my time at UWSP, I’ve found a voice that I didn’t know was inside of me and every day it comes out a bit more in my works. I continue to be in denial about growing up and that has also been pointed out to be a common theme in my works. I believe it stems from being encouraged to grow up too fast and living life with goals set instead of enjoying the process. Any artist knows that the process of creating is sacred and should be enjoyed to create something monumental and I’ve started applying that to my life.
